Fibre is an essential component in our diets and has proven benefits in both digestive and heart health. The British Nutritional Foundation guideline recommends a daily intake of 24g, but the average intake in the UK is only about half of this. As such, there is a general requirement to increase fibre intake; some supplements offer a convenient means of achieving this. In the opinion of the SC expert panel, a supplement should provide a minimum of 5g per day to make a meaningful contribution to fibre intake.
This product is an Aloe Vera juice with added soluble fibre of 8g per daily dose. As such, this product is very likely to deliver the range of benefits associated with increasing intake of fibre towards the daily guideline level of 24g. This product also contains an extract of Fig, which may have some additional benefit and would clearly be a good option for those people considering or already using Aloe Vera juice. The product is reasonably priced.
